Product Features
High-density 10G Access
Rising user bandwidth demands require switches to deliver higher forwarding performance and 10G port expansion capability. The S6520-SI series supports Gigabit to 40G optical ports, offering powerful forwarding performance and large-capacity switching services.
IRF2 (Intelligent Resilient Framework 2)
The S6520-SI series supports IRF2 (Intelligent Resilient Framework 2), which virtualizes multiple physical devices into one logical unit, delivering prominent advantages in scalability, reliability, architecture and availability:
Scalability: IRF2 supports multi-device expansion via interconnection cables. With plug-and-play deployment, single-IP management and synchronous upgrades, it greatly reduces system expansion costs.
Reliability: Built-in routing hot backup realizes full redundancy for control and data planes and non-stop Layer 3 forwarding within the IRF group. It eliminates single points of failure and service interruptions to enhance overall system reliability and performance.
Distribution: Distributed link aggregation enables load balancing and mutual backup of multiple uplinks, improving network redundancy and link resource utilization.
Availability: The IRF2 architecture is built on standard 10GE interfaces, supporting flexible bandwidth allocation for service and system connections to optimize local and uplink traffic scheduling. It supports intra-rack, cross-rack and long-distance cross-region stacking.
Rich Feature Set
Featuring fixed power supply and modular software design, the S6520-SI series supports flexible addition and removal of functional modules. Optimized hardware structure and software processes effectively reduce end-to-end packet latency.
SDN (Software Defined Network) adopts an innovative architecture. Its core OpenFlow technology decouples the control plane from the data forwarding plane, simplifying network O&M and enabling flexible traffic control to support network and application innovation.
The series supports VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN). It encapsulates virtual machine packets into UDP packets for transmission over physical IP networks and decapsulates data at tunnel endpoints, solving the challenge of long-distance virtual machine migration across geographically dispersed data centers.
It also supports ISSU (In-Service Software Upgrade) and OAM (Operation, Administration and Maintenance), meeting network requirements for high performance, easy management and energy efficiency.
Comprehensive Security Control Policies
H3C S6520-SI supports AAA and RADIUS authentication, as well as dynamic and static binding of user accounts, IP, MAC, VLAN and port information. Combined with the H3C iMC platform, it enables real-time online user management and rapid response to illegal network behaviors.
With enhanced ACL logic, the switch supports high-capacity inbound and outbound ACLs and VLAN-based ACL deployment, simplifying configuration and saving ACL resources.
Multiple Reliability Protection
The S6520-SI provides multi-layer device and link reliability protection, equipped with over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature protection mechanisms.
It supports power fault detection and alarm, as well as temperature-based automatic fan speed adjustment for stable device operation.
Excellent Manageability
The series offers rich management interfaces including Console, out-of-band port and USB port, and supports SNMPv1/v2/v3 and H3C iMC. It supports CLI, TELNET, FTP and OAM for convenient device management, while SSH2.0 and SSL encryption ensure secure network maintenance.
