NVIDIA Omniverse Libraries Put AI Agents to Work Prepping 3D Content for Simulation

NVIDIA rolled out Omniverse libraries, a suite of software modules that embed physical AI into mainstream 3D tools and streamline simulation-ready content production. Targeted at developers, technical artists and engineering teams, these libraries simplify pipelines for scene inspection, asset validation, physical behavior modeling and synthetic sensor data generation for robotics, industrial automation and autonomous vehicle development.

Physical AI systems rely heavily on simulated training and validation prior to real-world rollout, which demands far more than photorealistic 3D assets. Simulation files need accurate geometry, materials, proportions, labels, sensor specs and physical traits including mass, friction and collision rules. NVIDIA frames its new libraries as modular tools for AI agents to automate preprocessing and validation within familiar design and content creation software.

NVIDIA Omniverse libraries

The first launch covers ovrtx, ovphysx and CAD-to-SimReady tools, hosted on GitHub alongside a Blender integration template showing how to add agent-compatible simulation functions to existing 3D applications.

ovrtx delivers RTX-powered virtual sensor simulation, generating camera, lidar, radar and other sensor feeds from 3D scenes. Developers can gauge how physical AI perceives virtual environments before physical hardware testing.
ovphysx offers GPU-accelerated physics simulation, handling collisions, mass, friction, kinematics and other physical interactions to test robotic and industrial workflows virtually.

CAD-to-SimReady tools convert CAD files into OpenUSD SimReady assets, retaining original engineering data while adding structural and simulation metadata for physical AI and autonomous system testing.

Early Software Integrations

SideFX and PTC are early partners adopting the Omniverse libraries. SideFX tests ovrtx and ovphysx OpenUSD pipelines inside Houdini, building agent-aided workflows for procedural content generation, physics checks and scene prep without surrendering artist creative control.

PTC integrates OpenUSD and ovrtx into its Onshape CAD and PDM platform, unifying cloud design pipelines with physical simulation. Engineers can move product data through design, collaboration, validation and simulation without repeated asset rework.

At SIGGRAPH 2026, NVIDIA showcased a SimReady Blender pipeline built on the libraries and open Nemotron Ultra model. This reference stack adds RTX sensor simulation, physics and asset validation to Blender while keeping creators in full control, with the blueprint released publicly.

These pipelines run locally on hardware spanning compact RTX Spark units to GB300-based DGX Stations. OEM RTX Spark devices will launch this autumn, while DGX Stations are already purchasable via multiple vendors.

Startups Build Agent-Assisted Asset Pipelines

Multiple startups leverage Omniverse modules for automated asset and scene preparation. Palatial uses CAD-to-SimReady tools to mass-produce and verify SimReady CAD assets. Lightwheel combines NVIDIA Content Agents and OpenUSD in SimReadyGen to generate physically precise simulation assets from text prompts.

ForgeCAD and MoonlakeAI build agent-driven 3D pipelines on Omniverse to streamline asset creation, refinement and simulation setup for training and verifying real-world AI systems.
