AI-focused high-performance file and object storage firm WEKA appointed Shanta Kohli as its new CMO amid enterprise shifts to production-grade inference and agentic AI.
She succeeds Lauren Vaccarello, who led WEKA’s marketing from September 2024. Kohli joined Sysdig in August 2020 as VP of Marketing & Demand Generation and became its CMO in November 2024. Prior stints include Palo Alto Networks and Nimble Storage, where she served as VP of Corporate Marketing, steered its SMB-to-enterprise market transition, and oversaw marketing integration post its 2017 HPE acquisition.
Reporting to WEKA Co-Founder and CEO Liran Zvibel, Kohli brings proven growth expertise. Zvibel noted she builds end-to-end demand engines that tripled ARR for comparable-stage tech firms, and knows how to differentiate technical brands in crowded markets by converting prospect interest into revenue.
Converging inference costs, agentic workloads and infrastructure modernization create hurdles around large-scale inference and distributed GPU setups, which WEKA’s AI data and memory products address. Kohli commented that infrastructure has become a core strategic architecture choice for AI businesses. She joined WEKA to build a leading brand solving enterprise AI scaling pain points, backed by reliable products, loyal clients, vast market space and a driven team. Her priority is elevating WEKA’s industry visibility.
Former CMO Vaccarello now sits on Thryv’s board (Compensation & Audit Committees) and USA for UNFPA, and previously served as Executive in Residence at Scale Venture Partners. She currently advises AI startups Lumana AI and StaffAI on GTM strategy. On LinkedIn, she shared she generated 60% of WEKA’s new customer pipeline and doubled win rates, revamping messaging for AI labs and frontier model training enterprises.
WEKA’s marketing now targets enterprises and AI service providers running production inference and agentic AI. Competitors including DDN, Dell, Everpure, HPE, NetApp and VAST Data all offer Nvidia integration and KV cache acceleration as standard features, requiring Kohli to highlight WEKA’s performance edge to stand out.
Bootnote
Public AI infrastructure provider WhiteFiber delivers end-to-end high-performance AI infrastructure via GPU cloud and self-owned Tier 3 data centers, with vertical integration covering power procurement, datacenter design and multi-cloud/colo/hybrid deployments.
WEKA partnered with WhiteFiber on a cross-datacenter dark fiber project uniting two sites 83km apart into a unified GPU supercluster, delivering 111.2 Tbps bandwidth and 0.9ms round-trip latency—only 8% above the theoretical fiber speed limit for that distance. The trial used partial fiber spectrum, yielding twice the capacity of comparable full-spectrum tests with room for further throughput gains.
Built alongside high-speed Ethernet vendor DriveNets and leveraging WEKA’s NeuralMesh cross-cluster data/memory infrastructure, WhiteFiber will launch the solution commercially later this quarter, following full-spectrum fiber testing.
