Veeam Software has rolled out new agentic AI features for its Veeam DataAI Command Platform, solving enterprise pain points around data privacy, regulatory compliance and AI governance. The update introduces three dedicated AI agents to automate policy enforcement and deliver ongoing, evidence-backed compliance validation across complex multi-layered data environments.
This release marks a key shift from outdated manual, snapshot-based compliance checks to real-time governance matching the fast operation speed of modern AI systems. Veeam’s new AI agents fix critical flaws in legacy privacy workflows, which usually depend on spreadsheets and siloed processes unable to scale alongside surging AI-powered data consumption.
Growing Regulatory Risks for AI-Powered Enterprises
Enterprises now face stricter global regulations covering not only basic data protection but also AI model behavior, user consent management and cross-border data transmission. Major rules including GDPR, EU AI Act, ePrivacy and DORA bring heavy financial and operational risks, with penalties reaching up to 7% of a firm’s annual global revenue.
Cassandra Maldini, Veeam’s Head of Product Strategy for Privacy and AI Governance, stated compliance can no longer rely on periodic manual audits. It must run continuously with verifiable evidence and be embedded directly into daily business workflows. AI agents process enterprise data at machine speed, generating massive compliance events far beyond human tracking capability, making end-to-end workflow automation essential for modern governance.
Three New PrivacyOps AI Agents to Eliminate Governance Bottlenecks
Built on the platform’s native agent framework, the three new PrivacyOps agents cut manual workloads and unify standardized governance across hybrid cloud, on-premises and SaaS environments, targeting top pain points for internal privacy teams.
Consent Agent: It manages the full lifecycle of user consent, covering banner deployment, automated testing, real-time monitoring and automatic policy remediation. The agent captures user preferences including cookie settings, marketing opt-outs and revoked AI personalization permissions, then enforces these rules across all downstream systems such as analytics tools, AI pipelines, ad platforms and third-party SaaS services. Supported by Veeam’s built-in regulatory database, it automatically fixes policy violations and generates audit-ready reports with region-specific risk scoring.
Data Subject Request Agent: This agent automates reception and full lifecycle management of user data rights requests. It generates regulation-aligned web forms and updates them automatically following latest rule changes, eliminating repeated legal and development work. Veeam confirms this tool can shorten form deployment time by roughly 50%.
Assessment Agent: Designed for compliance documentation and reporting automation, it analyzes existing data evidence and auto-completes official documents including Data Protection Impact Assessments, EU AI Act conformity reports and vendor risk questionnaires. It reduces manual work while boosting the consistency and accuracy of official compliance filings.
Unified Trust Infrastructure for Data and AI Governance
All three agents run on the Veeam DataAI Command Platform, a unified control plane integrating data security, governance, privacy and business resilience. The platform is powered by DataAI Command Graph, an intelligent layer connecting hundreds of scattered data sources across cloud, SaaS and local server environments.
Its core module, the People Data Graph, serves as an advanced identity intelligence graph that consolidates structured and unstructured personal data across hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure. It enables real-time region-specific policy enforcement and complete audit trails for all policy execution. Unlike traditional tools using static snapshot data, this platform runs on continuously updated live data, keeping governance aligned with modern agentic AI operations.
Product Availability
The Consent Agent is available for all platform users immediately. The Data Subject Request Agent and Assessment Agent are scheduled for official launch in Q3 2026.
